The Sarmatians are a nomadic people who in ancient times inhabited the territory from the Danube to the Aral Sea. Belongs to the Iranian language group.

Sarmatian names are very diverse, each of the numerous Sarmatian tribes had their own traditions associated with names. And only a small part of them survived, mainly the names of kings and queens (Babai, Amaga, Inismey, etc.).

Sarmatian names are reminiscent of Greek ones, as these peoples interacted with each other over the centuries, but the names of the Sarmatians seem to be more rude. They lack the melody inherent in the names of the Hellenes.
