Zoroastrianism is one of the oldest religions, older than Christianity and Buddhism. The number of followers does not exceed 200 thousand people around the world, and most of them live in two countries: India and Iran.

Zoroastrian names are mostly ancient names from the Iranian epic Shahnameh or names taken from the Avesta (a collection of sacred manuscripts of Zoroastrianism). Often Zoroastrians give children the names of relatives. They believe that along with the name, the child will also receive the qualities of the person after whom it is named.
